01. Biography


Constança Araújo Amador, also known as aConstança, is based in Porto, Portugal, and engages in artistic practices encompassing drawing and painting, particularly in the illustration of contemporary Portuguese poetry and its relationship with Nature. Her works have been featured in published books, newspapers, magazines, and she regularly participates in both solo and group exhibitions.

She teaches at the polytechnic higher education level and serves as an illustration instructor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP), where she is currently pursuing a doctorate in fine arts. Constança holds a master's degree in illustration and animation (IPCA), a postgraduate degree in cultural management (UPT), and a bachelor's degree in fine arts - painting from FBAUP. In 2007/2008, she attended the Akademie Výtvarných Umění v Praze (AVU) in Prague, Czech Republic.

She has coordinated educational projects for institutions such as Porto/Post/Doc, Curtas Vila do Conde, Solar - Galeria de Arte Cinemática, and ANIMAR. Constança has collaborated for over 10 years as an art educator in museum educational service teams, working with museums and institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Serralves Foundation in Porto, the Oliva Art Center in São João da Madeira, the Porto City Museum, and the Cupertino de Miranda Foundation in Vila Nova de Famalicão.

Constança was the illustration director for the Jornal Universitário do Porto (JUP) and has curated illustration exhibition cycles in various organizations and institutions, such as the Bienal da Maia, Espaço Porto Cruz, and the Auditorium of the Academia de Música de Espinho.

She likes birds.
